The Accu-Cut Band Mill is not designed to be a high production sawmill.
The Accu-Cut Mill is made to be affordable for an initial sawmill purchase to cut logs for the construction of buildings and/or custom sawmilling that does not require high cost, high production equipment, yet priced to be affordable enough to easily recover the initial mill purchase price within a very few months of operation.

Accu-Cut Mill Features

Specifications:

Capacity 30" Diameter log by the length of carriage purchased.
(A 20' long carriage gives a net log length capacity of 17')
Longer carriage extensions are available in 10 foot lengths.

5 HP Electric Motor (220 volt - 1 phase) is standard and will cut 20" and smaller logs easily. If larger diameter logs are a normal occurrence, more horsepower is recommended for added speed in the cut. More horsepower is not necessarily required to cut the larger diameters, it just requires a little more time to make the cut. If requested, larger horsepower options are available, and will be priced according to the horsepower and power unit type selected.

Power Option: Substitute a 10 HP 220 volt 1 phase electric motor in place of the 5 HP motor add $986.00 to the above mill price. The 10 HP motor is recommended if speed is important and the majority of the milled lumber will consist of oak and other hardwood logs.
We prefer electric power - It is quiet, low maintenance, easy to start and stop and no fuel to handle. If, however, your location does not have electricity available - gasoline or diesel power units for the mill is also available. Email or call your needs for a specific quote.
Standard Mill Features:
- 8 rigid, adjustable tubular carriage supports making the carriage at normal work height. Also angled to prevent tipping when loading logs onto the carriage or turning heavy logs.
- Rigid tubular head frame eliminates blade wandering in the cut.
- Manual one hand operated raise and lower blade adjustment.
- 2 blade guides, support the blade on three sides, assuring blade stability and accuracy while in the cut.
- 4 adjustable log dogs for log clamping and stabilization. Also easy height adjustment as log is cut.
- 4 log back up supports that can be adjusted as the log is being cut and strong enough to handle raw logs being loaded on to the carriage, prior to sawing.
- Many more structural and convenience features that are found on the more expensive mills. The Accu-Cut Mill is built to withstand day to day use and still produce quality lumber at a modest cost per board foot.
We use 21" Diameter pneumatic band wheels for three reasons:
- Cooler band operation.
- Less stress on the band when foreign matter comes between the band and the wheel.
- Longer band life.
Other Options:
- Add portability to the mill: Axle, springs, electric running lights and tongue with ball type hitch, installed on mill carriage. Add $975.00.
- 10 foot bed extension to cut longer logs: $788.00 per 10 foot length. Includes 2 ea. carriage adjustable front and rear log dogs.
- Some need the capability to saw very short logs. Our short log adapter provides the necessary holding and support mechanism to enable one to easily cut 12" to 16" long logs, without the operator to having to make any major adjustments to the mill carriage. You can cut a 16 foot log and immediately cut a 12" long log by making two minor adjustments to the mill carriage. The short log kit is only $355.00 additional.

A Few of the Accu-Cut Mill Features

Steel Tube Carriage Support:

Four each heavy tubular supports securely welded to the standard 20 foot carriage and placed at an angle to prevent tipping when loading or turning heavy logs on the carriage. This added height also makes the carriage much easier on the operator when sawing. Most mills within the Accu-Cut price range do not come standard with work height legs, designed with the operator's safety and convenience in mind.

Adjustable Rear Carriage Log Dog:

Exclusive to the Accu-Cut Mill is a fast way to secure the log against the front log guides and hold the log securely for sawing. It has three separate adjustments for secure clamping of the log on the carriage. One adjustment slides horizontally across the carriage and adjusts to the size of the log. There is also a screw clamp to tightly clamp the log to the carriage. Also the clamp dog adjusts vertically to keep the dog completely clear of the saw blade while sawing lumber.

Adjustable Front Carriage Log Support:

The rugged front log support can be raised upright for the initial log loading onto the carriage and log turning while sawing. It is totally adjustable from vertical to horizontal position. It can be used for any height sawing as needed during the log to lumber process. Once the log is squared, the log can be clamped to the carriage rail using only the rear adjustable dogs. (The front log guides lie horizontally under the log when it is clamped to the carriage rail.)

Adjustable Saw Blade Guides:

Two adjustable saw blade guides offer full blade support during the sawing operation. The guides are made from and supported by heavy wall square tubing with adjusting bolts to allow for fast log width adjustment.
There are top and rear bearing supports to allow for smooth and effortless saw blade travel. Also a bottom bronze bearing pad eliminates any vertical blade travel, yet allows friction free blade operation. This complete support of the blade increases blade life substantially between sharpenings.

Blade Tension Adjustment:

The drive shown is electric 5 HP single phase 220 volt motor. This is the standard power furnished on The Accu-Cut Bandmill. Any type and horse power motor can be furnished at extra cost. The higher the horsepower, the more production the Accu-Cut Mill will produce. We offer the minimum power and HP configuration in order to be able to offer the entire mill at a very reasonable initial cost. This HP configuration usually is sufficient for the person who wishes to saw lumber for himself or do specialty sawing, where speed is not so much a factor. There is a noise consideration that gasoline and diesel motors produce and electric power solves.

Carriage Roller and Track:

Four "V" type rollers provide smooth head rig movement down the full length of the Accu-Cut carriage. This is one of the many reasons the Accu-Cut produces such quality lumber and with such manpower ease. Care is given during head rig and carriage assembly to keep all components in true alignment. All rollers are equipped with roller bearings and grease fitting to insure continued reliable service for many years.

Cutting Rule:

Consistent lumber thickness is easily maintained by a handy rule gage placed immediately in front of the saw operator.
